  •  Note. ***, ** and * indicate statistical significance at the 1, 5 and 10 per cent levels , respectively. Controls in regression adjusted model for caregiver outcomes are caregiver age in years, caregiver years of education, household size, monthly household per-capita income, dummy variables for water connection, sewerage connection and bathroom or latrine. Controls in regression adjusted model for child outcomes are child age in months, child sex, child age×sex interactions and all caregiver outcome controls mentioned above. Minimum dietary diversity (panel C) is defined as the proportion of seven key food groups consumed by the child in the previous day. Food groups are: (1) grains, roots and tubers; (2) legumes and nuts; (3) dairy products (milk, yoghourt, cheese); (4) flesh foods (meat, fish, poultry and liver/organ meats); (5) eggs; (6) vitamin A-rich fruits and vegetables and (7) other fruits and vegetables.25
